Reed Timmons Folk Art, Reed Timmons works in the lobster fishing industry and creates folk art from his home in Pleasant Bay on Cape Breton Island, bringing you a collection of unique art work. The gallery opened in 1994, and has been visited by folk art collector's and gift seekers from all over the world.


Cardinal Points Gift Shop
While visiting the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on the famous Cabot Trail make Cardinal Points a designated stop, conveniently located in Pleasant Bay. Our selection of unique gifts is not found in any other gift shop in Cape Breton. also have an Ice Cream Parlor that has become a popular stop for local people as well as tourists.

More than a corner store,  its also a meeting place for locals. If you’re short on milk, need a loaf of bread or want to roast some marshmallows, you’ll likely find what you’re looking for here.  They also offer most of the services you’d find at any Canada Post, including money orders, expresspost or parcel services and  the handy work in the shop is created by local artisans.

Whale Interpretive Centre
Promotes and preserves an awareness of whales and marine life by creating a unique and stimulating experience for our visitors. The Interpretive Centre provides various exhibits and  presentations, including scale illustrations of 16 whale species that may be sighted in the waters off Pleasant Bay. Visitors can see a life-size model of a pilot whale. Tours are provided throughout the day.Other features include a gift shop, Internet access, picnic area and parking.
